If you can believe it, this is another edition of our weekly collaborative NAG Friday Steam Wishlist Sale piece… written by exactly one member of the team.
Last week, Cody bravely faced the horrors of discounted video games alone, like the brave little soldier that he is. This week, however, the responsibility falls to me. Not because of careful planning or teamwork, but because Cody is currently soaring majestically through the skies on his way to the Velodrome to cover some super epic event.
Yes. I’m jealous. Still, as the Discord wisely pointed out, I’m never one to look a gift horse in the mouth. And this week’s gift is the opportunity to mercilessly pick on Cody and his loyal henchman BigMacSomethingSomething while they’re too distracted pounding Red Bulls and doing Important Event Things to defend themselves.
So while Cody’s out there pretending to be a responsible adult, I’ll be here doing what really matters: adding more games to my Steam wishlist.
Let’s dive in.
Reign Breaker
Price: R100

Why It’s On Arielle’s Wishlist:
This might technically be cheating because Reign Breaker is not only on my wishlist. It’s also already in my Steam library.
But look, if Cody can wiggle out of contributing to this piece with “I can’t be late to the airport” as his excuse, then I’m allowed to bend the rules a little, too.
Also, the game is ridiculously fun. Fast, chaotic, rebellious, and full of smashing through enemies with giant motorised javelins. It’s basically what would happen if someone turned righteous punk rage into a video game.
What Is Reign Breaker:
Reign Breaker is a fast-paced action roguelike set in a dystopian medievalpunk world. Players take on the role of Clef, a rebellious warrior fighting against a tyrannical kingdom and its elite forces.
Armed with powerful motorised javelins, you’ll smash through mechanical enemies, explore handcrafted levels filled with traps and secrets, and gradually grow stronger with each defeat as you push deeper into the Queen’s Bastion.
Mineko’s Night Market
Price: R177 marked down from R355

Why It’s On Arielle’s Wishlist:
I’ve not had the best week. And you know what cures most things in life? Cosy games. Not “slightly relaxing but still stressful because your crops are dying” cosy.
I mean proper cosy. The kind where the biggest threat is running out of crafting materials or getting distracted by cats.
Which brings us to Mineko’s Night Market, a game that appears to have an infinite supply of wholesome vibes and approximately twelve thousand cats.
I suspect if Cody played this, he’d immediately start min-maxing the Night Market economy like some kind of cosy capitalist. Meanwhile, BigMacDaddy would probably get distracted halfway through a quest because he spotted another cat and forgot what he was doing.
Meanwhile, I will be doing the sensible thing and simply enjoying the vibes, crafting cute things, and petting every cat the game allows.
What Is Mineko’s Night Market:
Mineko’s Night Market is a narrative-driven social simulation adventure that celebrates Japanese culture through exploration, crafting, and community activities.
Players take on the role of Mineko, a young girl who moves to a mysterious island where locals worship the legendary Sun Cat, Nikko.
As you explore the island, you’ll gather resources, craft items, complete quests, and prepare goods to sell at the weekly Night Market.
Star Overdrive
Price: R160 marked down from R320

Why It’s On Arielle’s Wishlist:
I love racing games. I love hoverboards. And I refuse to accept the fact that hoverboards are not yet the default mode of transport in 2026.
So when I discovered Star Overdrive, a game about racing across an alien planet on a hoverboard while doing tricks and blasting music with a keytar… well, obviously it went straight onto my wishlist.
What Is Star Overdrive:
Star Overdrive is a high-speed open-world action adventure where players explore a mysterious alien planet using a powerful hoverboard.
As the stranded protagonist Bios, you’ll race across diverse biomes, perform tricks, battle enemies, solve environmental puzzles, and upgrade your abilities while uncovering the mystery behind a cryptic distress signal and the disappearance of someone important to you.
And there you have it, three games currently on sale and now sitting comfortably on my ever-growing Steam wishlist.
Will I buy them all? Almost certainly. Will Cody complain about my ever-expanding backlog when he gets back? Also, almost certainly.
But that’s a problem for Future Arielle. For now, I’ll leave Cody to his important Velodrome adventures and BigMacDaddy to whatever mysterious chaos he’s currently up to.
In the meantime, I’ll be here doing the real work: finding great games on sale so you don’t have to scroll through 14,000 pages of Steam discounts. You’re welcome.
