Every time you ask me if I prefer summer or winter, I will always vote for winter. And my argument is this: If it’s hot, I can’t walk around naked to cool down. If it’s cold, I can just hop under a blanket, boot up my console and play games all day long.
It’s hard to convince me that the latter option is not the best.
Although this time around, I’m pretty sure the cold has killed Arielle, because this week’s NAG Friday Steam Wishlist Sale only contains half the amount of games as it usually does.
In any case, while we wait for the messenger pigeon I sent to check in on her to return, here are my three games of the week.

Why It’s On Cody’s Wishlist:
Cross Code is one of my all-time favourite games. It perfectly coupled vintage gaming with modern mechanics, and I honestly think about it more than the Roman Empire. Alabaster Dawn is the next game from the same developers, Radical Fish Games, and I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for this game to launch. It did. Yesterday. And it’s no longer on my Wishlist.
What Is Alabaster Dawn:
Alabaster Dawn is a top-down 2.5D Action RPG that follows Nyx, the cursed protagonist who’s set to guide humanity’s rebirth. The game combines flashy combos with RPG mechanics and in-game puzzles that’ll have you both scratching your head and salivating for more. #unbiased
Animal Well

Why It’s On Cody’s Wishlist:
Surprisingly enough, even with the creepy-looking characters pasted all over the front page of this game, it still looks remarkable. I’m a sucker for a well-done pixel art game, and Animal Well certainly looks like one. Plus, it’s a Metroidvania. Yet another blast from my not-so-long-ago past.
What is Animal Well:
Animal Well is a Metroidvania that gets the player to explore the depths of the well, encountering weird and wonderful creatures as they light their way through the dark.
It’s whimsical, unsettling, and a little bit magical, too.
Reanimal

What Is Reanimal:
Reanimal is a horror adventure game created by the same team that did Little Nightmares. Here, you have a co-op adventure, playing as an orphaned brother and sister that must survive the island’s hellish secrets as you try to save your friends and find hope. Also, make sure you’re wearing a diaper.
