This week’s Veterans Vault takes the scenic route, starting with Regardt and James' music habits and old-school music discovery. Sorry, we digressed.

Getting back to the games, James introduced us to a very cosy game called Pioneers of Pagonia (Steam), a relaxed medieval city-builder about settlers, production chains, beer taverns, and bottlenecks. It’s not the sort of builder that punishes you with a spreadsheet and intricate management, but it still has enough depth to make every road, workshop, and farm feel like part of a living machine.

That city-building mood carried into Town to City (Steam), a gorgeous voxel-style town builder that seems far more interested in letting you beautify a settlement than slowly drowning you in resource misery.

On the mobile side, I’ve been playing Gambonanza (grab it on Steam, iOS, or Android), it's basically what happens when a chess roguelike takes on Balatro vibes. It's a fun game on mobile and will change the way you view a chessboard forever.

We also ran through a fresh batch of Steam discoveries, including Paralives (Steam) for the life-sim crowd, Gamble With Your Friends (Steam) for anyone looking to test friendships with shared financial disaster, Replaced (Steam)for those who enjoy stunning pixel-art cyberpunk brawlers, Invincible VS (Steam) for comic-book ultraviolence fans, and Sintopia (Steam), a management sim that asks the question: what if Theme Hospital, but hell?

It’s a packed episode, slightly chaotic, mildly educational, and full of game recommendations to ruin your weekend. Perfect! So tune in.
