It took little to no time for me to fall in love with the Evetech Lekker mousepad – it’s deep, wide, and has a beautiful surface. In comparison, I’ve forced myself to use the Gamdias NYX P1 for much longer and every day it has been a grind.
My complaints with the NYX P1 start and end with its size. While it’s the perfect width to fit a keyboard and mouse on it, it’s the depth that leaves me gritting my teeth in frustration. My style of gaming and general computer use means that I like to move my keyboard back and forth, depending on if I am eating at my desk, writing or gaming. But due to the lack of vertical area on NYX P1, I had to keep moving the mousepad itself.
The surface is more of a control surface due to the texture, which introduces a minute amount of friction when using the mouse. The rubber mat underneath does a good job of gripping the desk and thus it won’t go slipping and sliding around while in use, but this does make it frustrating if you want to move this small pad around like I needed to.
The price is also an issue, but not in the traditional sense. At R149 it is a very cheap mousepad that doesn’t feel cheap. But (and this is a very big but), the Evetech Lekker is R50 more and I would consider that a far better mousepad due to its massive size.
Simply put, unless your desk has extremely limited desk space then I would recommend you have a look at one of the other mousepads that I’ve recently reviewed.
