Stuff you missed from Gamescom 2022 (part 3)

We can certainly look forward to the final quarter of 2022 with a number of exciting games across various genres and game types set to be released in the coming months. Being one of the biggest conferences of the year, Gamescom have also already announced their 2023 dates, which will be the end of August again (23-27 August 2023).

In our third part of stuff you missed from Gamescom 22, we take a look at the latest from LEGO, we travel back to where it all started with 1bit gaming, we also look at an exciting new multiplayer PVP that you’ll be wanting to challenge your friends, as well as a variety of sci-fi based games.

LEGO Bricktales [Steam Link]

Build like never before and see your creations come to life in a beautiful LEGO world with an innovative brick-by-brick building mechanic. Explorations will take you to five different LEGO worlds, from the deepest jungles to sun-drenched deserts. Tackle a variety of puzzles as you uncover the secrets and mysteries of these worlds and unlock the many collectables throughout the story.


Hyenas [Steam Link]

In this sci-fi FPS, team up with your pack to steal priceless pop culture loot from billionaires and rival crews. Earth is ruined, the rich have colonised Mars while the rest of humanity orbits in a giant slum. Meet the Hyenas, an unlikely pack of robbers with unique abilities, big personalities and only one task at hand: hit the Mars elite where it hurts.


Moviehouse [Steam Link]

Ever wanted to manage your own movie studio? Odyssey Studio’s latest simulation game Moviehouse lets you do just that. Start as a small 80s film crew and work your way up to become one of the majors. With a dozen different genres to choose from, plot the perfect storyline as you create your very own blockbuster.


Block’Em! [Steam Link]

Battle your friends in this action-filled block-building party game. Block’Em is a 2 to 4 player, PVP style game with simple controls where each player creates blocks to block the other players while trying to navigate a variety of obstacles. On a complex road to victory, be the first player to reach the goal or be the last blocky standing.


Swordship [Steam Link]

Tactical thinking is needed as enemy fire is your only weapon in this futuristic lightning-fast dodge’em up by developers Digitial Kingdom. At the command of an ultra-fast boat, make split-second decisions, dodging, weaving and diving your way through an onslaught of enemies as you trick them into killing each other while stealing containers from the underwater megacities to upgrade your ship.


Astronite [Steam Link]

Jump into the world of 1bit in Astronite’s metroidvania action exploration game as you take control of a brave explorer tasked to save the ancient inhabitants of Neplea and expel the invaders once and for all. On a huge map full of hidden secrets, enemies and big bosses, tackle a variety of puzzles while obtaining power-ups to improve your skills and travel throughout the map.


Death Roads: Tournament [Steam Link]

It’s the year 2082 and desolate lands cover most of the continent. In this deck-building roguelike turn-based game developed by The Knights of Unity, choose from the various drivers, cars and weapons as you take part in the Death Roads race to fight for a better life and the right to join the “PRIME” society. Rarely any survive, will you?


Wild West Dynasty [Steam Link]

Become the most powerful man in the Wild West and leave your mark on history as you go from rags to riches, expanding your settlement into a prosperous town in Moon Punch Studio’s latest crafting game. Experience the vast open world from a first-person or third-person perspective, exploring a variety of environments like abandoned mines and cave systems filled with dangers, treasures and secrets

Watching the trailer of this game reminded me of the old-school Pokémon games, but with a more modern look and feel. Terracotta is an action-adventure puzzle game based on the influential Qin dynasty. Overcome a variety of puzzles and challenges as you solve the mystery of the curse to free your terracotta comrades and bring peace to one of the greatest spiritual wonders of ancient China.


The Way of Wrath [Steam Link]

Travel back to a frozen valley in the Bronze Age in this Epic strategy RPG by developer Animmal. You are The Warchief and you have the monumental task of preparing your tribe for a last-stand battle against the enemy who will be at your gates in 10 days! You will need to be ruthless, fearless, and cunning to survive what is to come.
