Cassette Beasts Finally Getting Multiplayer Update

Cassette Beasts is an open-world JRPG that allows one to collect monsters and battle them in turned-based battles against opponents. Sounds eerily similar to some other game that we shall not mention, just in case they get signalled and decide to take Cassette Beasts down.

The game has already seen a few DLCs and updates in its almost year-long lifespan, but the one update that many players have been asking for has not yet surfaced up until now. OK, up until the 20th of May.

The multiplayer update for Cassette Beasts will launch this year on the 20th of May and will finally let tape masters take on the open world together.

The update will allow up to eight players to visibly roam in the same world, allowing custom player-vs-player battles, tape trades and two-player raid battles. Multiplayer will also be cross-platform, meaning your buddies on their Switch consoles or the Game Pass Gang on Xbox can tape it up with you on your Steam version.

While the update only officially drops in May, you can sign up for the beta via the beta branch on Steam if you already own the game. If you don’t, the game is currently running at a 30% sale price on Steam. It is also free on Game Pass or available on the go on Nintendo Switch.

With all the rave reviews of the game, I’d go ahead and grab it before it really does get taken down by the almighty monster collector themselves.
