We’ve all heard the term “battle royale” in our daily gamer lives. Apex Legends, Fortnite, and even Call of Duty Warzone (#BestMobileGameEvaaaaar) are just a few of the games that sit within the genre.
Game Loft, the same publisher behind Asphalt 9, that one game that is always magically installed on your computer, has now decided to expand the “royale” range with cheese.
Their new game, dubbed a platformer royale, will pit up to 16 players against each other in a race to the finish line. Each player will have a chosen champion with varying abilities as their runner, where you will jump, sprint, wall-run, and disable your frenemies as you try to take first place.
The game is a Power Puff Girl concoction with a little bit of Fall Guys, a dash of Smite and a sprinkling of Runbow.
The game is currently hosting a pre-alpha playtest until the 8th of April, but unfortunately, it’s only in the US and EU regions, so you might have to do a bit of spoofing if you’re keen on giving the game a try this weekend.
If this newly coined “platformer royale” genre seems like something up your alley, but Fall Guys is a little too… kiddie, then you should try Runbow. It’s available on Steam, Epic Games, Xbox and PlayStation, with Epic Games having the lowest price.
