Tiny Titans: Small Gadgets With Big Gamer Energy

Imagine you and your friends having a conversation about cool tech. They brag about this, or that or the other, but every time you ask them to show you, they say they had to leave it at home.

Now it’s your turn, and every cool thing you mention is literally sitting in your pocket because, by the magic of science, they’ve managed to squeeze everything you need into a device so small you’d think it was made for babies.

But just because it’s small, doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a punch. As they say, dynamite comes in small packages, and these three devices that I found online through the power of squinting are now different.

Come check them out.

8BitDo Micro Bluetooth Gamepad
Check it out

This thing genuinely looks fake the first time you see it.

The 8BitDo Micro Bluetooth Gamepad is absurdly small. Like, “Did I order this off Temu?” small. And yet, despite looking like a toy you’d get in a cereal box, it’s a fully functional wireless controller for PC, Switch, Android, and more.

It features clickable buttons, programmable inputs, Bluetooth connectivity, and surprisingly decent ergonomics considering it’s barely larger than a pack of gum.

Is it replacing your main controller for competitive gaming? Probably not.

But for retro games, emulation, mobile gaming, or just throwing something tiny into your pocket, it’s one of those gadgets that immediately wins people over the moment they hold it.

Mostly because everyone’s first reaction is: “There’s no way this actually works.”

And then it does.

Creative Sound Blaster X1 Portable DAC & Headphone Amplifier
Check it out

The Creative Sound Blaster X1 is one of those gadgets that doesn’t look exciting at all. It’s basically a small USB stick with delusions of grandeur.

But plug it into your PC, laptop, or handheld, connect a decent pair of headphones, and suddenly everything sounds cleaner, richer, and far more detailed than before. Games become more immersive, music gains depth, and you start noticing audio details you genuinely didn’t hear before.

Despite its tiny size, the X1 packs a dedicated DAC and headphone amplifier capable of driving much higher-end headphones than your average motherboard audio can comfortably handle.

It’s not flashy, and nobody’s going to walk into your room and compliment your DAC setup.

But your ears will.

Planck Creator SSD

External SSDs are usually pretty small already, but the 10G Planck SSD takes things slightly into “I’m definitely going to lose this” territory.
This thing is tiny. Properly tiny.

Yet it still delivers ridiculously fast storage speeds thanks to its USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface, making it perfect for carrying games, media, project files, or whatever else is currently eating your storage space alive. And yes, it supports direct filming for Apple Pro Res at 4K/120Hz.

It’s also built with thermal tolerance in mind. Thanks to its heatsink shape design, you can transfer data to and from the device for extended periods of time, making it perfect for content creators.

Tiny footprint. Massive convenience.

And there you have it. Three tiny gadgets proving that desk space and actual usefulness don’t necessarily need to scale together.

Sometimes, the smallest upgrades end up being the ones you use the most.

Even if one of them does look like a controller designed for ants.
