Wishlist Wednesday: Fog, Frenemies And Fixable Gadgets

Welcome to Wishlist Wednesday, a brand-new weekly series where I, your friendly neighbourhood gaming editor, dig through the fog of my feed, the depths of my DMs, and the darkest corners of my browser history to bring you four things I’m absolutely obsessed with this week.

Expect a game, a comic, a board game, and one shiny (or delightfully nerdy) hardware pick that’s firmly planted on my radar – and very possibly yours soon too.

So, ready to see what’s haunting my wishlist this week?

Quite a Ride
Pedal through the fog, but whatever you do… don’t look back.

Check It Out Here

It started with a bike ride to a friend’s house. You know, just another chill trip, until the fog rolled in, your phone started buzzing with creepy messages, and now… something’s chasing you.

Quite a Ride is shaping up to be a survival horror gem wrapped in mist and mystery.

You’re trapped in a constantly shifting anomaly, and your only hope is your bicycle, and maybe the sentient silhouette texting you cryptic things like “it knows.”

Your phone’s battery recharges only when you pedal, so every moment becomes a balance between riding for your life and stopping to unravel the cryptic story that’s chasing you.

Oh, and global player actions can change the world. Which means your ride might be quite different from mine.

In short, Quite a Ride is like Stranger Things meets Silent Hill… on a bicycle, and I’m so here for it.

Blood Honey
Young love always feels like life or death – and at this high school, it actually is.

Check It Out Here

Imagine a world where Burton-esque aesthetics collide with teen drama, murder plots, and a painfully relatable sense of high school dread.

That’s Blood Honey, a macabre graphic novel that starts with two gothic lovebirds, Vanessa De La Mora and Edgar St. Claire, and ends with, well, attempted murder.

Tired of their relationship and each other, they both come to the same conclusion: life would be easier if the other one was dead. You know. Normal teen stuff.

And I can’t wait to read it.

The Old King’s Crown
Royalty, rebels or ruses. What crown will you wear?

Check It Out Here

Conquer the kingdom, but do it quietly. The Old King’s Crown is a brilliantly cutthroat card-driven strategy game where you play as an heir to a mysterious throne.

You’ll stake claims across a gorgeously illustrated map, sneakily play your hand in secret regions, and outwit rivals all vying for one thing: influence.

This isn’t your average power-hungry fantasy.

Every action feels layered and full of tension, from sending heralds to staking secret plots.

It’s the kind of game where everyone at the table thinks they’re winning… right until someone plays that card.

If you like a little scheming with your strategy and believe in winning with style (or deceit), The Old King’s Crown deserves a seat at your next game night.

Team Repair
Because the best boss fights in life involve broken electronics and tiny screwdrivers.

Check It Out Here

Team Repair is an award-winning company turning kids into mini-engineers one gadget at a time.

Their kits include broken (but fixable) electronics and walk kids through diagnosing and repairing them.

It’s hands-on, empowering, and, bonus, teaches kids that broken doesn’t mean disposable.

Designed by engineers from Imperial College London, Team Repair combines STEM learning with sustainability and actual fun.

If I’d had one of these as a kid, I probably would’ve stopped disassembling my toys. Probably.

From fog-choked survival rides to board game coups, from gothic murder teens to fixable electronics, that’s what’s living rent-free in my brain this week.

I’ll be back next Wednesday with four more wishlist wonders from the geekosphere – maybe something to play, something to read, something to build, and something to make your inner nerd yell “shut up and take my money!”

What’s on your wishlist this week? Drop your picks in the comments; we’re always on the hunt for the next obsession.
