Cowboy Bebop Ed

Live-action Cowboy Bebop filming complete, no Edward in sight

Film work on the first season of the upcoming live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation for Netflix is finally complete, but it seems they’re saving Ed for the next one.

Thanks to an Instagram post by Daniella Pineda, who is playing con-artist Faye Valentine, we know that the live-action Cowboy Bebop is creeping ever closer to our screens.

I’m coming back on the air to say…..Season 1 of COWBOY BEBOP is finally, finished.

Filming on Cowboy Bebop was hampered when John Cho, cast as former hitman Spike Spiegel, sustained an injury on set back in 2019, then the whole world stopped when the coronavirus happened, but it seems they’ve finally got it done. However, one cast member appears to be missing, because we’ve seen no mention of who will be playing everyone’s favourite weirdo, child genius, hacker Radical Edward.

Ed only pitches up in episode nine of the original anime, so the lack of her appearance probably just means they’re focussing on a different plot for the first season. “Data dog” Ein, on the other hand, has been confirmed.

Cowboy Bebop, based on the iconic anime of the same name, is a noir, space western, cyberpunk, comedy (yes) following the adventures of the intergalactic bounty-hunting crew (so hot right now) of the Bebop.
