The Asus ROG Kithara is one of those rare gaming products that have taken things so far that it's become one of the best in its category. If you are a bit of an audiophile, then this headset review is for you.

At the heart of the Kithara are ROG-tuned 100mm HiFiMAN planar magnetic drivers, with an 8Hz to 55kHz frequency response and 16-ohm impedance. Those are some high-end specs. Planar magnetic drivers are not new, but they are still not something you find in every gaming headset, mostly because they are expensive, fussy, and generally associated with people who use the word soundstage in normal conversation

The other big design decision is the open-back architecture of these headphones, and this is where the Kithara sets itself apart from other gaming headsets. In games, it gives audio room to breathe, and the game world sounds like it's living around. Asus says the design is built to improve separation across bass, mids, and treble while helping spatial awareness on the... uhm, soundstage.

Dungeon Clawler looks like a typo and sounds like the punchline to a bad joke, but this roguelike claw-machine deckbuilder is surprisingly fun to play. Instead of playing cards from your hand, your attacks, shields, healing items and weird little dungeon tricks are all pulled from a claw machine.

Each battle drops you into a machine filled with items. Grab a sword, and you attack. Grab a shield, and you block. Pull out healing, coins, bombs or special items, and the entire round can shift in your favour. It feels simple at first, but Dungeon Clawler quickly becomes more tactical than its silly premise suggests. The machine may look chaotic, but the good runs come from understanding how to work with that chaos.

The game features procedurally generated dungeons that change with every run, bringing new enemies, treasures, weapons, shields and items into play. Between battles, you pick up upgrades and gear that slowly turn your collection of random dungeon junk into something resembling a plan. One run might become an all-out damage sprint. The next might force you into a defensive panic where every shield feels like a life decision.

There are also different characters to choose from, each nudging your strategy in a new direction. Some feel better suited to aggressive play, while others reward careful blocking, healing or item synergy.
